Crimson Desert Charting the Unknown key art

Pearl Abyss moved Crimson Desert’s Charting the Unknown DLC by two weeks. It now unlocks on October 29, 2026, not mid-month. The studio says it needs the time to ship something more polished and more stable. If you had October 15 blocked off, that block is wrong.

The delay note went up on the official Crimson Desert site on September 30, 2026, at 10:20 UTC, which is 3:20 a.m. PT that morning. Coverage picked it up over the next couple of days. The message to players is short. They are still building the expansion, they are sorry about the wait, and they would rather slip it than ship the version they have.

When it actually unlocks

“October 29” is not one clock time. Pearl Abyss posted a regional table:

  • North America: October 29 at 3:00 p.m. PT, which is 6:00 p.m. ET.
  • Europe: October 29 at 10:00 p.m. UTC. The same table also prints 11:00 p.m. CEST. Those two do not agree, and by October 29 most of Europe is on standard time (CET), not summer time. Trust 10:00 p.m. UTC. It is the stamp that matches 3:00 p.m. PT.
  • Asia: October 30 at 7:00 a.m. KST and JST.

So a Thursday evening on the West Coast, and Friday morning if you are in Korea or Japan. The note signs off with October 29 GMT/PT as the date they want people to remember. If you are setting an alarm, use the PT or UTC time, not the CEST label.

What you are waiting on

Charting the Unknown is a continuation, not a new game with a new hero. The official DLC page keeps you with Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane and sends the map past Pywel’s coast.

The ocean is the headline. You take a ship to islands off the shore, then dive. Underwater treasures, sunken ruins, and whatever Pearl Abyss is calling hidden mysteries. New enemies show up on land and at sea, and the page tells you to expect harder fights than the ones you already know.

The other half is town life. You can rent and run facilities, use a beefier housing mode, and push conversations further with people in Pywel. The story blurb is four hooks rather than a plot: something wrong in the desert, a political mess, a trip that leaves the normal timeline, and an old secret under the water. That is the content the extra two weeks are supposed to stabilize. Pearl Abyss did not list specific bugs.

Pre-orders, which opened in early September, still advertise a bonus: the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka, and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane. The delay note does not say those bonuses were pulled.

Where it will not be

Two limits were already on the books before this slip, and the revised pre-order notice still carries them. Charting the Unknown will not be on the Mac App Store at launch. If a Mac version happens later, Pearl Abyss says that gets its own announcement.

Some regions are out entirely. After an age-rating review, the DLC will not be sold in certain markets. The notice does not name them. Pre-orders in those places are closed. Refunds may show up on their own, or you may have to ask through the store you used. If your pre-order vanished, that regional cut is the first thing to check, not the October 29 delay.

The base game is already out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This date change does not move that. It only moves the expansion.

Two weeks is a short slip, and the reason they gave is stability, not a missing feature list. The ocean, the dive, and the three leads are still the package. Just do not plan the session for October 15. On the West Coast, the new evening is October 29 at 3 p.m. PT.
