The Pokémon Legends: Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and the Mega Dimension expansion are getting a single physical bundle on October 29, 2026. One game card holds both. You do not buy the DLC again on top. If you already own the Switch 2 Edition, skip this box and buy Mega Dimension on its own. That is the whole shopping rule, and The Pokémon Company repeats it because the bundle is an easy double-buy.
The US news post and the game site match on the date and the card. The Asia press release the same day adds the fine print, names GAME FREAK as the developer, The Pokémon Company as the publisher, and Nintendo as the company selling it. It is a physical release. None of those pages list a price, so the tag at the store is the price.
If the console is already on Switch 2, system update 23.0.1 is the firmware cleanup worth installing before a long RPG. This bundle is the one that can waste money if you already started in Lumiose City.
What you actually get, and where it will not run rich
The card is the Switch 2 Edition plus the paid Mega Dimension DLC, the same content as buying those two separately. Mega Dimension’s story waits until you finish the main story of Legends: Z-A. The base game came out October 16, 2025, on Switch and Switch 2. It is the series’ real-time battle experiment: days in Lumiose City and its wild zones, nights in the Z-A Royale. The DLC, as the press note describes it, sends you after space-time distortions with a girl named Ansha and the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa, into a place called Hyperspace Lumiose. Holo-X and Holo-Y clothes from the DLC can be worn in the base game right away. That is the official outline, not a hidden ending.
Here is the hardware catch. The Switch 2 Edition also plays on a Nintendo Switch. On that older system it plays as the Switch version. Features that use Switch 2 hardware are not in that mode. A household that thought the new card would upgrade the original console is buying the same Switch game plus DLC, not a secret Switch 2 performance patch for old hardware.
Buyers of the bundle get a serial code for 100 Ultra Balls through Mystery Gift. The code works once. Use it on one save and it will not work on another. The press note says the codes have no expiration date, then immediately warns that the gift can become unclaimable if network service ends, with notice beforehand. You need the internet. The profile has to be linked to a Nintendo Account. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Mystery Gift itself shows up after about an hour of play, so the balls are not sitting in your bag at the title screen.
Pokopia’s bundle is the same day
October 29 is also the date for a Pokémon Pokopia bundle that pairs the Switch 2 game with the Expansion Pass. Pokopia is the slow-life game about a Ditto living as a human and building a town with other Pokémon. The pass includes Part 1, which is already out, plus Parts 2 and 3. It is a separate product from the Z-A card. Do not let a shelf tag mash them into one purchase.
If Legends: Z-A is already installed, the DLC is the piece you are missing, and this bundle will not discount that fact. It is for someone who wants the Switch 2 game and Mega Dimension in one physical package, Ultra Balls included, with the Switch 1 limits written on the tin in very small type.
