The Analogue Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ are official, and they take the company’s well-loved FPGA consoles for original Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges and bring the hardware around them up to date. Both cost $219.99, preorders open Monday, October 19 at 8am PDT on Analogue’s store, and shipping is set for December 2026.
Same accuracy, new everything else
Analogue’s pitch is that the part people loved never needed fixing. Each console still runs on an Altera Cyclone V FPGA built to recreate the original hardware at the chip level, so there’s no emulation and you play your real cartridges. Output is still HDMI up to 1080p, with the same scanline, scaling and aspect ratio options returning from the originals.
What changed is the stuff you touch every day. Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless are built in, with a dedicated pairing button and support for up to two wireless controllers, so an 8BitDo pad or arcade stick connects without a dongle. Power moves to USB-C, and Analogue includes a 30W USB-C power supply in the box. There’s also a new USB-A port, though it’s only for the Analogue DAC (for hooking up to a CRT) or charging controllers, not for plugging in USB gamepads.

A few small quality of life touches round it out. You can quit a game from the menu and swap cartridges without powering down, a wired controller automatically takes over from a wireless one, and pressing start on player one’s controller turns the system on or off. The case and the retail packaging are both redesigned.

The details for each console
The Super Nt+ plays more than 2,200 Super NES and Super Famicom cartridges region free, and comes in Classic, SF and Black versions that nod to the North American and Japanese designs.
The Mega Sg+ covers Genesis, Mega Drive and Master System games, with a Master System adapter and a Sega CD spacer in the box. Adapters for Game Gear, My Card and Mark III/SG-1000 are sold separately, and it can still connect to an original Sega CD or Mega CD to play those discs. It’s offered in USA, EU and JP styles.

Neither console includes a controller, and Analogue lists the 8BitDo SN30 and M30 at $29.99 each. They also skip the Analogue 3D’s extras like save states, screenshots and 4K display modes, and neither supports openFPGA. These are focused 16-bit machines.
When to preorder
Preorders go live Monday, October 19 at 8am PDT on Analogue’s store, with a limit of two per order and shipping in December. If you want one in the first shipping wave, having your Analogue account and payment details ready before the clock hits eight is the safe move.
If your SNES or Genesis has been living in a closet because the cables and the composite picture weren’t worth the hassle, this pair looks like a tidy way to get those carts back under the TV.
