Zero Parades key art showing Hershel Wilk in a long red coat beside the game's logo, surrounded by sketched faces

Zero Parades: Director’s Cut is coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 on November 3, and ZA/UM’s spy RPG is arriving on consoles in its fullest form, with controls built around each system. ZA/UM confirmed both console versions during the Galaxies Showcase on October 15 with a trailer that walks through what each one does differently.

What Zero Parades is

Zero Parades: For Dead Spies is the second game from ZA/UM, the studio behind Disco Elysium, and it launched on PC in May. You play Hershel Wilk, a burnt-out operant codenamed CASCADE who gets pulled back in for one more assignment five years after leading a team to ruin. Like Disco Elysium, it’s a heavy-dialogue RPG where your skills talk back to you, dice rolls decide the big moments, and failing a check usually opens a different door instead of ending the run.

What the Director’s Cut adds

The Director’s Cut landed on PC on October 1 as a free update, and it’s the version console players get from day one. ZA/UM says it adds roughly 40,000 words of new writing, including more conversations with returning characters, plus a brand new Dramatic Encounter, one of the game’s tense set-piece scenes where you pause time and roll your way through a crisis.

There’s also a Backstage Mode, where you can walk through earlier versions of the game’s locations and cut areas while the Art Director narrates how they came together. Around the city of Portofiro you’ll find new outfits for Hershel, more NPC reactions to what you wear, new death screens and extra atmospheric touches. The English voice-over is now complete, with a newly recorded opening and a fresh audio mix.

The quality of life list is long too. Inventory sorting and grouping got an overhaul, interactions are easier to read, and the update added a bigger set of accessibility options, including full button remapping, adjustable text size and speed, a dyslexia-friendly font, custom UI colors, a high contrast mode and a photosensitivity setting that removes bright flashes.

PS5 and Switch 2 features

On Switch 2, ZA/UM is leaning on the hardware’s input options. You can use the Joy-Con 2 as a mouse, tap through menus on the touchscreen, and feel the dice rolls through HD Rumble 2, whether you play docked or handheld. For a game that grew up on mouse and keyboard, the mouse support is the most interesting part.

The PS5 version is built around the DualSense, with adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and the controller speaker all in play. It also supports 3D Audio and a 4K presentation.

Price and where to buy

ZA/UM hasn’t posted console prices yet. On PC, Zero Parades is $39.99 on GOG, where you get a DRM-free copy you keep, and on Steam. If you already own it on PC, the Director’s Cut is already in your library as a free update.

The PS5 version is listed on the PlayStation Store for November 3 and is rated M for Mature, with blood, violence, sexual themes and drug and alcohol use.

If you bounced off Disco Elysium on a controller or never had a PC that could run Zero Parades, November 3 looks like a good time to give ZA/UM’s spy story a shot.
