The Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 10th anniversary celebration brings a free update on Oct. 27 and a festival starting Oct. 30, and the festival is the part to plan around. Bandai Namco says two of its rewards will unlock items in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 when that game comes out in 2027. So if you still have Xenoverse 2 installed, this is a good week to dust off your Time Patroller.
What the free Oct. 27 update adds
The update brings new Login Bonus Rewards and Special Costumes, plus an update to the Gallery of Time. That last part isn’t free for everyone, since Bandai Namco says it unlocks when you buy the Future Saga Chapter 4 DLC. Bandai hasn’t posted patch notes or a version number yet.
The Final Festival of Universes
The Final Festival of Universes starts Oct. 30. Here’s what Bandai Namco says it includes:
- Camaraderie with old mentors. You can raise your camaraderie level with Trunks, the Supreme Kai of Time or Fu, and doing so unlocks special illustrations.
- Hard-to-get items return. Items that were tough to obtain are coming back during the festival.
- 25 times the Star Coins. You earn Star Coins at 25 times the usual rate, which makes the reward exchange a lot faster.
- A Gi and a medal. Taking part can earn you a new Gi made for the anniversary and a commemorative medal.
Bandai hasn’t said when the festival ends, so it’s safer to start early than to count on a long run.
How the rewards carry over to Xenoverse 3
This is the reason to show up. If you own the anniversary Gi or the commemorative medal, you can unlock special items in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 by linking your Bandai Namco ID once that game launches in 2027. Bandai says the item you get depends on which one you own, so earning both is the safe play. If you don’t have a Bandai Namco ID yet, it’s worth setting one up now.
Where to play
Xenoverse 2 is on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC. It isn’t sold on GOG, so Steam is the PC option, where it was $4.99 on Oct. 25 (75% off $19.99) with the sale running through Nov. 5. That’s a cheap way in if you want to join the festival before the sequel shows up.
