Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos is out now on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC, and it’s Argonaut Games’ remaster of the 1999 platformer Croc 2. It’s $29.99 on Steam, and on GOG the purchase also drops the classic Croc 2 into your library. If you liked the Dynasty Warriors 3 remaster treatment of a PS1-era favorite, this is that again for a cuddlier crocodile.
What’s in it
The adventure spreads across four villages, Sailor, Cossack, Caveman and Inca, with more than 40 levels of open-ended 3D platforming. Between the platforming sections you drive minecarts, cars and speedboats, and fly a hang glider and a wooden airplane. Each village has a guardian boss, including Flavio the Thermal Fish and Soveena the Squid, and Swap Meet Pete runs the shop.
What’s new in the remaster
The name is the first change. Kingdom of the Gobbos was the game’s name during development in the 90s, and Argonaut has put it back. Croc also gets a new triple jump.
The Croc2pedia is the biggest extra, a digital museum of design documents and concept work, and it includes the Croc2mentary, a 90-minute documentary on how the game was made.

On PC, check GOG first. You get a DRM-free installer, and the classic Croc 2 comes with it, so you can compare the remaster with the 1999 version. GOG also has the remaster of the first game, Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition, for $10.19 right now.
If you want a box on the shelf, physical PS5 and Switch 2 editions are due in early 2027 from PM Studios in North America and Strictly Limited Games in Europe, and the Switch 2 one includes the Switch version. North America is also getting a physical Xbox Series X edition. A native Switch 2 version is expected later in 2026.
If you’re buying on PC, the GOG version gets you the remaster and the 1999 original to keep.
