A match in progress on a full stadium pitch in Football Manager 27

Football Manager 27 is free to play on PC and Mac right now, and you have until 10am PT on Tuesday, November 3 to try it. Sports Interactive opened the FM27 Launch Preview to everyone on Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store with no sign-up, and any career you start carries over if you buy. If you spent October’s Steam Next Fest downloading demos, this is a bigger one: the actual game, a week and a half before launch.

How the free window works

The Launch Preview replaces the old Beta, and this year anyone can play it until 6pm GMT on November 3, which is 10am PT. Sports Interactive says the stores may have switched it on at slightly different times. On Steam, it’s the Play for free button on the store page. You can start a career, and the Shuffle Draft multiplayer mode is in there too.

It’s still a preview, so expect some bugs, and a few licensed club or player assets may be missing.

What carries over

If you buy through a SEGA-approved store, you get 10% off and keep playing the preview after the free window closes. On Steam that’s $53.99 instead of $59.99. Your preview career moves into the full game on November 10, so a weekend of transfers isn’t wasted.

FM27 isn’t sold on GOG, so Steam, Epic and the Microsoft Store are the PC options. The console version launches the same day on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but the free preview is PC and Mac only.

Start a save this weekend, see if FM27 clicks, and decide before Tuesday morning.
