Theos: Cities of Myth launches November 4 on Steam, and it fixes the oldest headache in Greek city builders: the Walker who wanders off the wrong way. Triskell Interactive, the team behind Pharaoh: A New Era, lets you plant patrol flags and tell your Walkers exactly which streets to work. Seven Olympians are watching how you do it.
Patrol Flags Put Walkers Where You Want Them
If you played Zeus or Pharaoh, you know Walkers. They leave a building, wander the roads, and keep nearby homes supplied with water, food, safety and culture. You also know they used to take whatever turn they felt like. Triskell’s Walkers deep dive says it set out to give players total control over those routes.
Here’s how the system works:
- Placing a service building auto-generates a working path, so a new district runs right away.
- Every path has a maximum length, and the UI shows how far your Walkers can reach while you edit.
- Walkers have to walk home, so the return trip counts against the route.
- Drop patrol flags on the roads and Walkers follow the shortest route from flag to flag. Add more flags to tighten it.
- Build next to a building that already has a route and its Walkers copy the path automatically.
- The UI marks any building with no valid path, so dead zones are easy to spot.
Emergencies skip the routine. When a fire breaks out, firefighters from the nearest station head straight to it by the fastest route, patrol path or not.

Seven Gods to Build For, From Zeus to Dionysus
Dotemu’s launch announcement names the pantheon: Zeus, Athena, Hermes, Ares, Poseidon, Hera and Dionysus. You build under a patron god, and that god’s requests steer how your city grows.
Your polis isn’t alone on the map, either. Rival city-states can become trade partners, allies or targets, and conflicts play out in real-time battles. Great People show up too, and Dotemu lists Aristotle among the names you can attract.

Adventure Unlocks Chapter by Chapter, Sandbox Opens Everything
Theos ships with two ways to play, per Triskell’s mode breakdown:
- Adventure is built around a specific god. Buildings unlock chapter by chapter as you meet your patron’s requests, other cities appear on the world map over time, and set chapters ask you to recruit Great People and Heroes and found colonies. Some rewards are exclusive, like the Minotaur Statue in the Athens Adventure.
- Sandbox opens every building and city from the first minute, randomizes world events and lets you choose the god that suits the map’s resources. Every Great Person and Hero is available the whole game.
The Next Fest demo is gone. Triskell pulled it on October 27 because it no longer matched the current build, so launch day is your next look.
