Stellar Blade Complete Edition unlocks on Switch 2 on November 5 at 7:00am PST, and the cartridge in the box is the whole game. Shift Up says every byte ships on the card: no game-key card, no download before you can play. For a Nintendo port of a big 2024 PS5 action game, that’s the headline worth taping to the shelf.
No Game-Key Card, No Day-One Download
Shift Up’s own wording on its blog is “100% on cartridge,” and the September press release spells out the rest: the entire game data lives on the card and no additional download is required to play. Physical and digital both sell for $59.99. Nintendo Everything reports the eShop download at 25.4GB, so digital buyers will want room on the system before 7am.
A Limited Edition SteelBook with new key art is also out through participating retailers and Panax, in limited quantities.
A Frame Generation Toggle Came Out of the Demo
Shift Up put a free demo on the Switch 2 eShop ahead of launch, and players had opinions about how it felt. On September 23, the official Stellar Blade account said the team “decided to add a Frame Generation toggle at release” so players can pick the look and feel they prefer. Shift Up CTO DongKi Lee told Nintendo Everything the port runs a steady 30fps base and uses AMD’s FSR 3.1 frame interpolation to target 60fps in both modes, with Nvidia DLSS handling upscaling. Docked output is an upscaled 1080p, and handheld runs at 720p. With the toggle, that interpolation becomes your call instead of a fixed setting.
Your demo save carries straight into the full game, per Shift Up, so nobody has to replay the opening.
Everything From PS5 Comes in the Box
The Complete Edition label is earned. Here’s what’s on the cart, by Shift Up’s list:
- The full game plus the NieR:Automata collaboration, whose cosmetics you buy with in-game Stellar Tears at Emil’s Shop.
- The GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE collaboration.
- Stargazer outfits for EVE, Adam and Lily, plus Half-Rim Glasses, Quadruple Rectangle Earrings and the Planet Diving Suit (Captain) for EVE.
- Stargazer and Fluffy Bear packs for the drone.
- A starter boost of 2,000 SP EXP and 5,000 Gold.
Four Bayonetta Outfits Land Free on Every Platform
At the same 7:00am PST mark, EVE gets four Bayonetta couture outfits for free on Switch 2, PS5 and PC. Shift Up showed three in the trailer and held the fourth back as a surprise. PS5 and PC owners don’t need to buy anything to grab them.
The game is rated M (PEGI 18), so it’s one for the grown-ups in the house. If you’re already working through Ocarina of Time on Switch 2, this is the week’s other big cartridge, and it’s all there the moment it clicks into the slot.
