Division agents fight through an overgrown Central Park in The Division 2 Echoes of Central Park

Echoes of Central Park, the next paid expansion for The Division 2, launches Tuesday, November 3, for $19.99, and it’s the first time the series lets you into Central Park itself. Ubisoft says the new map is roughly twice the size of Battle for Brooklyn, covering the park and the Upper West Side from Lincoln Square to the Dakota. Ubisoft calls it the biggest Division 2 add-on since Warlords of New York, and like The Crew Motorfest’s Tomb Raider DLC, it’s a straight purchase on top of the base game.

A flashback to an overgrown Central Park

The story is set the summer after Warlords of New York and is told as a flashback, with a narrator walking you through her version of what happened. Central Park was a mass burial ground during the outbreak, and now it’s overgrown and home to a new apex threat that’s spreading fear across the Upper West Side.

Three companions fight alongside you, and each has a role:

  • Brayleigh Callahan, a sniper, MIT graduate and Olympic shooting medalist
  • Elwood Franklin, a protector and former mall cop who wants to join the NYPD
  • Morse Feeney, an assault specialist and first-wave Division agent

You can swap companions when you replay missions, and each one reacts to the fight differently.

After the campaign, the park turns into an endgame mode. At first you’re the prey, with no GPS and a steady flood of enemies. As you learn the area and collect gear, you become the hunter. Good runs earn exclusive rewards, and bad ones carry a disadvantage into the next encounter.

The expansion also adds six new skill variants, including the Corrosive Trap and Gas Bomber, a new gear set, and the Ratel exotic weapon.

The $29.99 base game and a Level 40 boost

You need The Division 2 itself, which is $29.99 on Steam. If your agent is below Level 40, the DLC includes a boost straight to 40, and it also adds 50 stash slots. You can play it solo or in online co-op.

Platforms: PC (Steam or the Ubisoft Store), PlayStation 4 (runs on PS5), and Xbox. The Division 2 isn’t sold on GOG.

GTX 780 Floor, GTX 970 Recommended

Echoes of Central Park uses the base game’s PC requirements. Steam lists these for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 (not a new Echoes-only list; the DLC page only says you need the base game):

Pre-ordering either edition, or buying the Elite or Legendary Edition of the game, adds a Central Park mask (the NY Purifier Mask) on November 3. Ubisoft is holding a launch livestream with the development team on November 2 at 7am PT.

Crossplay arrives later in November

Crossplay doesn’t switch on with the DLC. Ubisoft says it will roll out gradually through November after Echoes of Central Park launches and be fully available by Season 4.

When it’s live, every player moves into the crossplay environment with it turned on by default. You can switch it off on the Character Selection screen, and then you’ll only match with people on your own platform. Clans move over too and can grow from 50 to 100 members across platforms. Leaderboards reset when crossplay starts.
