The Evercade Nexus is out October 30 for $199.99, and the cartridge in the box is the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack, with Rare’s Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie on one cart. It’s the biggest Evercade handheld yet, it has two analog sticks, and it plays every Evercade cartridge already out there. If you’ve been eyeing plug-and-own retro hardware like the Analogue Super Nt+, this is the cheaper, portable take on the same idea: physical carts you buy once and keep.
What it plays
Evercade games come on licensed cartridges, usually a handful of games per cart, starting at $29.99. Blaze says there are now more than 80 carts with over 700 games between them, and the Nexus runs all of them. The dual sticks matter most here, since they’re what make N64-era games like Banjo feel right.
It also has a TATE mode for vertical arcade shooters, and EverSync lets two Nexus owners play local multiplayer wirelessly from a single cartridge, no internet needed.

There’s no HDMI out, so this one stays a handheld. If you want Evercade on your TV, that’s what the VS-R console is for. There’s also no power adaptor in the box, just a USB-C to USB-A cable, so plan on a 5V 2A charger you already own.
Banjo in the box
The Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack was made with Rare and adds save states, a choice between modern and original control schemes, a music player with unreleased tracks, and a cheat menu. It’s also sold on its own for $29.99 on October 30, and it works on older Evercade hardware too, including the VS-R, EXP-R, Alpha and Super Pocket.

The same day, The DOOM Collection cart lands at $29.99 with DOOM, DOOM II, TNT: Evilution, Plutonia, the Master Levels, No Rest for the Living, and both SIGIL episodes, plus a Deathmatch Pack with Chaosmatch, Instagib and Tag modes.

Blaze lists Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop among US retailers. In the UK it’s £169.99 and in Europe €199.99. Funstock’s two limited editions, the 2,000-unit Nexus 64 Edition and the 3,000-unit DOOM Edition, are both sold out.
If you already own a pile of Evercade carts, the Nexus is the upgrade that finally gives them sticks. If you’re starting fresh, two Banjo games on a cart you keep makes a solid first one.
