Gears of War: E-Day goes wide Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. PT. That is the full worldwide launch on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC through the Microsoft Store, and Steam. It lands day one in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. If you skipped the Premium early window, tomorrow is the open door.
There is no PlayStation version in the official materials. This is an Xbox and PC launch, with Xbox Play Anywhere so a buy (or Game Pass session) can move between console and PC with shared progress.
What unlocks Tuesday
Early access has been running since October 1 for Premium Edition owners and Game Pass players with the Premium Upgrade. We already covered that Premium early access start. Tuesday drops the gate for Standard buyers and for Game Pass members who never grabbed the upgrade. Same build clock for everyone: 8:00 a.m. PT / 15:00 UTC.
On the store side, Standard is $69.99 and Premium is $99.99. If you already own Standard, the Premium upgrade is listed at $30. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass cover day-one play without that buy, as long as your plan is active when the title unlocks.
What you are jumping into
E-Day is the Coalition’s Unreal Engine 5 origin story, set fourteen years before the first Gears of War. You play through Emergence Day with Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as the Locust come up from below. Campaign works solo, in two-player split-screen on console, or with up to four players online.
Multiplayer splits into two clear lanes. Horde Siege is the reworked co-op wave mode built for bigger maps and squad play. Versus is the refined 4v4 PvP side, with ranked and social playlists called out in the official pitch. Cover shooting is still the spine. Movement has been modernized with more vaulting, sliding, and vertical routes than older Gears entries.
How to be ready for 8 a.m. PT
Pre-load if your storefront already lets you. Game Pass players should confirm Ultimate or PC Game Pass is active before the unlock, not after. Microsoft Store and Steam both list the PC builds. Xbox Series X|S is the console home. Online campaign co-op, Horde Siege, and Versus need a Game Pass plan that includes online multiplayer, sold separately from the game download itself.
If you have been waiting for the public open rather than the Premium head start, Tuesday morning is the date on the calendar. Boot the client a little early, let the last patch finish, and drop in when the clock hits 8:00 a.m. PT.
