Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo electric hypercar from the side and rear

Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV Part 1 is a free update that unlocks tonight, Wednesday, October 14 at 11pm PT (Thursday 7am BST, 3pm JST), and it brings the Sportsland Sugo circuit, six new cars, new events, and new Scapes locations. Polyphony Digital laid out the full list on the PlayStation Blog, along with a first look at a Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense for the series’ 30th anniversary.

What’s in Spec IV Part 1

The headline add is Sportsland Sugo, the hilly Japanese circuit known for flowing corners and big elevation changes. Alongside it you get new Car Viewer features, a new Experience mode, six new World Circuit events, and fresh Scapes spots for photo mode. Polyphony hasn’t gone deep on how Experience mode works yet, so expect to poke at it yourself tonight or check gran-turismo.com for more. You need an internet connection to grab the update, and since it’s labeled Part 1, more Spec IV content is clearly on the way.

The six new cars

The list is a fun mix. There’s the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, an electric hypercar concept built around balancing low drag with real downforce, and the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo ’26, a four-rotor race car that carries on the 787B lineage. Those two and the Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line ’23 (yes, a family minivan) are sold at Brand Central.

The Ferrari F355 Berlinetta ’94 and the Citroen 2 CV 6 Charleston ’86 show up in Used Cars, and the Honda Civic Si Group A version ’87, based on the Mugen Motul Civic that won its class in the 1987 All-Japan Touring Car Championship, lands in Legend Cars. All six cost in-game credits, which you can earn through play or buy.

If you don’t own the game, My First GT is still free on the PlayStation Store and is an easy way to see whether GT7’s handling clicks for you before buying in.

The Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense

PlayStation also revealed the DualSense Wireless Controller – Gran Turismo Limited Edition to mark 30 years of the series. It has racing stripes, motorsport-style graphics, and a textured carbon-fiber-style front plate, and Kazunori Yamauchi framed it as a thank-you to the players who’ve stuck with Gran Turismo since the start.

It costs $84.99 in the US (EUR 84.99, GBP 74.99) and will be made in limited quantities. Pre-orders open Thursday, October 22 at 10am local time through PlayStation Direct where available and at participating retailers. In the US that’s 10am ET on direct.playstation.com. It launches worldwide starting December 10.

Sugo plus a minivan and a 2CV is a very Gran Turismo way to celebrate 30 years, and it’s all free tonight. If you want the controller, set a reminder for the 22nd, because limited usually means it goes fast.
