The Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer dropped this morning, and Rockstar used it to debut a brand-new song along with one last look at Vice City before the game arrives on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It went up on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the official launch trailer page at the same time.

What the trailer shows

The setup is the same one Rockstar has been building since the first trailer. Jason and Lucia are a pair who already know the odds are against them, and when a simple job falls apart they end up caught in a conspiracy that spreads across the state of Leonida. Rockstar keeps the story beats vague, so the trailer plays more like a mood piece than a plot dump, and it is a good watch even if you want to go in fresh.

Rockstar also notes the whole thing was captured in-game on a PlayStation 5, so what you see is what the console is actually running.

A new Justice single

The bigger surprise is the music. The trailer premieres “Flower in a Hurricane,” a new standalone single from Justice, the French electronic duo writing the game’s original score. It features Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, which is quite the lineup for one track.

The song is also part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack. You can pre-save it on the major music apps now, or pre-order it on vinyl or CD from the official album store.

November 19 is close

With the launch trailer out, the marketing run is basically at the finish line. Grand Theft Auto VI lands November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and preorders are open now through Rockstar. It is a mature game with plenty of violence and adult content, so keep that in mind if it is going on a shared family console.

Five weeks to go. If the trailer has you humming Justice already, the album pre-save is a nice way to kill the wait.
