PlayStation Plus October Monthly Games key art for Hunt: Showdown 1896, F1 25, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for October are F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. Members can add them from Tuesday, October 6, through Monday, November 2. The lineup can change by region, so check your PlayStation Store on the day they land.

If you still need September’s set, that clock is shorter. Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes stay claimable only until Monday, October 5.

F1 25 (PS5)

F1 25 is the official 2025 FIA Formula One game. Single-player covers Career and My Team 2.0, where you run a team as owner and write your own season story. Online play includes F1 World, a multiplayer mode where you and friends race as a squad against AI drivers. If you wanted a current-gen licensed racer in the Plus library, this is the one with the biggest brand recognition of the three.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5)

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is the extraction shooter rebuild of Hunt. You push into corrupted backwaters, track bounties, fight other Hunters, and extract with what you claimed. You can go alone or bring up to two teammates. The Blog keeps the pitch at that loop: race competing Hunters to bosses, claim the bounty, get out. It is tense by design. Nothing here needs a plot dump, and the October window is a clean way to see if the extraction rhythm fits your group.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5, PS4)

World Brothers 2 is the voxel EDF co-op entry. The square Earth is under attack, teammates are scattered for rescue, and you build a squad of four from the soldiers you collect, then pick gear and drop in. The game mixes mainline EDF soldiers, spin-off units, and redesigned voxel versions of older enemies alongside new ones. Co-op is four players online or two-player local split-screen on PS5 and PS4. If you want the silly giant-bug energy without a long single-player lecture, this is the easy recommend of the month.

September last call, then October starts

Claim the September monthlies by Monday, October 5, if any of those four are still missing from your library. October’s three arrive the next day, October 6, and stay through November 2.

For anyone still filling a PlayStation week: Ace Combat 8 already shipped, Kena: Scars of Kosmora moved into 2027, and the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition early look is the big first-party sidebar if you are planning a longer campaign.

Optional extras around the same week

PlayStation Plus also has HorrorFest item packs timed for spooky season. The Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle is listed for October 1, a Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack lands with the monthly on October 6, and an Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt pack with five tier skips is dated October 7. You need the base game owned to use those packs. They are bonuses, not substitutes for the three monthlies.

On the same October 6 date, limited Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars arrive on Sony Pictures Core. PlayStation Plus members can claim them in-app at no extra cost for a limited window. Non-members need the Brand New Day title on Sony Pictures Core. That is a profile cosmetic side quest, not part of the Monthly Games download list.

Add what you will actually play. October’s set is a racer, an extraction hunt, and a voxel co-op swarm game. Grab September before Monday if you still care about that shelf, then claim the new three when they unlock on the 6th.
