The Star Wars Galactic Racer launch is here: the game is out now worldwide on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Fuse Games developed it, Secret Mode publishes it, and it was made in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. If you want a copy you install and keep, buy it on the platforms below.
What you get at launch
The single-player campaign puts you in the boots of Shade, climbing the unsanctioned Galactic League with engineer Hibi and aiming at champion Kestar Bool. Arcade covers short, focused challenges. Scenarios stretch into longer runs with their own rule sets. Online, you can jump into quick races or full runs-based events that finish on Derven Acos, with up to 12 pilots in a race.
Four craft types share the fantasy. Landspeeders, speeder bikes, and the new skim speeders race together. Podracers run on their own because they are too fast and too big to mix in.
Where to buy it
On PlayStation, the PS5 version is PS5 Pro Enhanced, supports Remote Play, and needs PS Plus for online play. The Store listed the unlock at 09:00 UTC, which was 2:00 a.m. PT this morning.
On Xbox, the Series X|S version is Optimized for Xbox Series X|S with 4K, HDR10, and 60 fps or higher listed, plus 2 to 12 player online races and cross-platform multiplayer. Console online play needs Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate.
On PC, GOG.com is still our preferred owned-copy storefront when a title is sold there (you own it forever). Galactic Racer is not on GOG at launch, so Steam is next in line at $59.99 Standard and $79.99 Deluxe. The minimum spec calls for Windows 10, 12 GB of RAM, an RTX 2060 class card (or Arc A580 / RX 5600 XT 6GB), and 50 GB on an SSD, which is required.
Standard Edition pricing starts at $59.99 / GBP 49.99 / EUR 59.99 across platforms, per Secret Mode’s release post. A physical Collector’s Edition is also out at $159.99.
Who made it
This is Fuse Games’ debut. Co-founder and CEO Matt Webster said the studio started three and a half years ago as “a handful of people with a big idea scrawled on a whiteboard,” and thanked Lucasfilm Games for trusting a small team with the galaxy.
