Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the fast sequel to Auroch Digital’s retro FPS with two playable heroes and a branching single-player campaign. Auroch and publishers Big Fan Games and Devolver Digital locked the launch for October 14, and a Nintendo Switch 2 version is confirmed for later with no date yet.
Two heroes, one branching purge
You pick Malum Caedo, the Ultramarines Sternguard Veteran voiced by Rahul Kohli, or Nyra Veyrath, a Celestian Sister of Battle voiced by Alanah Pearce. Each has their own weapons and play style. The campaign branches into unique levels across new biomes, from hive-city heights to mangrove swamps, with new enemies and weapons on top of the first game’s chainsword-and-bolter chaos.
It is single-player only, and Auroch’s FAQ says the release is digital only for now. Mick Gordon also contributed an original track for the final boss fight.

Where to buy it
On PC, grab it on Steam for $24.99 (it was $22.49 with a 10% launch discount when we checked). It is not on GOG.com yet, so Steam is the buy option for owned PC copies right now. On consoles it is on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S through the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store.
Minimum PC specs on Steam call for Windows 10, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 980 / R9 Fury-class GPU, DirectX 12, and about 13 GB of space. The content is Mature-rated for violence, blood, and gore, in classic Warhammer fashion.

If you liked the first Boltgun’s retro pace, this is the same loop with a second character and branching routes. Jump in on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S today, and keep an eye out for that Switch 2 build when Auroch names a date. If you want more Warhammer this fall, Warhammer Survivors lands November 10.
