The Phantom Blade Zero release time is 7pm PT on Oct. 28 (10pm ET), on PS5 and on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-loading opened on Oct. 26, so if you’ve already bought it, the download should be done and you can start at unlock. If you haven’t picked an edition or checked your PC yet, here’s the short version.
What the game is
Phantom Blade Zero is S-GAME’s single-player action game. You play Soul, an assassin framed for his master’s murder who has 66 days left to live. The combat is the main event: Steam lists more than 30 primary weapons and more than 20 Phantom Edges, and Donnie Yen worked on it as a creative consultant. It’s rated M for blood and violence.

Get the Standard Edition unless you really want the artbook and soundtrack. S-GAME says the Deluxe outfits can also be earned by playing, so the extra $10 doesn’t buy anything you can’t get later. The pre-order bonus, the Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy outfit, was an early unlock too, and S-GAME says both items can be found in the game, so buying at launch doesn’t lock you out of them.
The PS5 version is digital for now. S-GAME says a physical PS5 edition is coming in 2027.
What PS5 Pro owners get
Phantom Blade Zero is PS5 Pro Enhanced, so it has extra tuning for the Pro. Sony’s listing doesn’t say exactly what changes. On any PS5, it uses DualSense vibration and the adaptive triggers.

Both targets assume upscaling is on, so plan on using it. If you’re on an AMD RX 6000 card like the recommended RX 6700 XT, FSR 4.1 now supports that series. And an SSD is required at both tiers, so don’t install it on an old hard drive. It needs DirectX 12. Steam doesn’t list a storage size yet. On Steam it supports Family Sharing, Steam Cloud saves and full controller support.
Phantom Blade Zero isn’t on GOG, so on PC your choices are Steam and the Epic Games Store. If it comes to GOG later, that’s the DRM-free version to get.
