Students gather in the flower-lined courtyard of Witchbrook College in pixel art

The Witchbrook release date is January 28, 2027, and it’s coming to more consoles than before. Chucklefish, the publisher behind Stardew Valley, set the date during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase and announced a PS5 version alongside PC, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It costs $24.99.

What you do in Witchbrook

You’re a new student at Witchbrook College in the seaside town of Mossport. You go to classes in Alchemy, Astrology, Tarot, and Rituals, do assignments, pass exams, and unlock spells as you work toward graduation.

Outside class, it leans into the cozy life-sim side, in the same spirit as Stardew Valley. You make friends, find romance, start a witch business helping the town, join clubs, go to seasonal events, fish, catch bugs, and fix up your cottage and garden. Up to four players can do all of it together in online co-op.

Chucklefish is making it in-house with Robotality, the studio behind Wargroove 2. It’s the fourth game Chucklefish has made in-house.

Chucklefish hasn’t said whether a Switch copy upgrades to the Switch 2 version, and it hasn’t announced pre-orders or a physical edition.
